Repair, reuse, recycle are some of the most used and effective techniques to reduce the carbon footprint we leave. If we talk about electronics, whether we sell them or buy them, giving a second life to these devices that have become tools of daily use, can help reduce the amount of tons of waste derived from this equipment that is generated every anus.

Latin America is a place quite accustomed to buying and selling second-hand items, for example in Mexico, half of those interviewed in a study carried out by Statista Global Consumer Survey in 2021, said they had bought at least one second-hand item during the last twelve months. In this order, electronic devices were one of the most traded items, right after clothing.

But do you know the reasons why more and more people are opting for repowered electronic equipment?

The Savings: These devices have a price between 30 and up to 70% less than the same new devices. This point makes heads turn in the direction of the repowered market.

Eco-responsible consumption: The purchase/sale of used equipment is an intelligent alternative to reduce the highly polluting impact of the manufacture of new latest technology devices

Waste reduction: By repowering an appliance you prevent the premature disposal of parts that can continue to be used, thereby reducing waste and the subsequent environmental impact.

Lower energy consumption: These repowered equipment are often of recent technology so they are more efficient in terms of energy, which can reduce the cost of the energy bill.

Promotes the development of the circular economy: when a consumer sells/recycles their used equipment, they recover a percentage of the value of their goods instead of throwing them away.

Easy access to spare parts: When repowering an appliance faulty parts can be easily replaced, meaning it can be easier and cheaper to keep the appliance in good condition.

Contribution to the environment: By using a repowered appliance you help reduce the carbon footprint and take care of the environment, extending the useful life of the appliance.

There are many companies or apps that offer reconditioned devices, which have been reviewed and restored by experts, so you can get equipment practically like new, and even include warranties for up to 12 months.

In short, giving a second life to electronic equipment is a good deal that offers you almost new technology, at second-hand prices.
